Cost of Lessons
Fees are based on an hourly rate of £40. Children usually have a weekly half hour lesson (£20) for the first few years. At about Grade 4 or 5 standard they might need to increase to 45 minutes or to an hour.
Adults vary in their choice of lesson length. It depends on a number of factors, and can be negotiated and adjusted as necessary.
Sorry, currently no space for new pupils, except for occasional lessons and possibly short courses. Contact Janet for enquiries or to join waiting list.
The best way to arrange an initial appointment (and / or a course of lessons) is to phone Janet on 01244 377955. If she is unavailable when you call, leave a message with your name and phone number and she will contact you – normally within 24 hours.
If you prefer to use e-mail, do so by all means, but you may have to wait up to a week for her reply. Please ensure you enter something in the ‘subject’ box that won’t be mistaken for advertising or other junk mail.
E-mail address: firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are not quite sure whether to go ahead with lessons, Janet may be able to offer advice over the phone or by e-mail; but, if not, she may suggest that you book a trial lesson. This can take place without a violin or viola, if you haven’t yet bought an instrument. She can, of course, give advice on the purchase of instruments, music, and any other equipment needed.
